It would be great if the current day is always highlighted or contrasted. The same could be done subtly to highlight the current week.

Hi Chris, current day highlighted is already an option. You can change today's color in Customise > Themes > Customise Themes > Cell Colors > Current Date.

We might consider a current week highlight option in the future.
